All Raised Gluten Free products are created in Humboldt County -- from recipe testing to producing and shipping pies to stores across the West Coast and beyond. We are lucky enough to have our roots in a community that is supportive of business start-ups and that has helped us every step of the way! With this pizza recipe, we wanted to celebrate some super tasty foods that are made in Humboldt County, California.
The first ingredient is from yours truly, Raised Gluten Free. We start off this recipe with our gluten free pizza crust. These crusts are free of most allergens (gluten, dairy, egg, corn, nuts, and soy), which makes customizing your pizza a piece of cake!
The next featured Humboldt item is from Diane's Sweet Heat. This "Jam with Attitude" has been sold for the past ten years, and is a sweet and spicy blend of fruits and jalapeño! There are four flavors you can choose from, but we decided to use Peach Habanero flavor. These jams add the perfect kick to any pizza. Other flavor options: Blackberry Habanero, Mango Habanero, and Raspberry Habanero.
The last Humboldt item you need is goat cheese from Cypress Grove! Cypress Grove Cheese is a truly impressive Humboldt brand, with a variety of goat cheeses (Soft-Ripened, Aged, and Fresh). One of their most popular is the Humboldt Fog (and it is famous for a reason)! You can't go wrong with any of their cheeses, but we decided to use Purple Haze for this recipe. This lavender-infused cheese makes for a perfect, earthy pairing with our other ingredients.
To bring all of these unique flavors together, we use prosciutto and fresh spinach. To make a vegan or vegetarian version of this pizza, consider substituting the prosciutto for mushrooms, and the goat cheese for a vegan cheese (Follow Your Heart vegan cheese is a great alternative). The final product is a flavor explosion of all things Humboldt. We love our local businesses, and we hope you will too with The Humboldt Local Pizza!
